Scheffler of Danzig + -a 2.] An evergreen shrub or small tree of the genus so called, belonging to the family Araliaceæ, native to many tropical or subtropical regions, and bearing large compound leaves and clusters of small white, greenish, or red flowers, followed by small berries.
