botulism Med.|ˈbɒtjuːlɪz(ə)m| [ad. G. botulismus (also in Engl. use), f. L. botul-us sausage: see -ism.] Poisoning caused by eating food, usu. imperfectly preserved, that contains botulinus toxin.
