(A person's) mere word or dictum. Also in extended senses: (a) an affirmation or assertion; (b) authority, authorization; (c) the right of consultation, a ‘voice’ (in some decision). upon my (your) say-so, upon one's word; on the say-so of (a person): according to, on the authority of (that person); to have the say-so: ‘to have the say’, to be the authority.
