Savage, n.2|ˈsævɪdʒ| The name of Arthur Savage, inventor, of Brooklyn, N.Y., used attrib. and absol. as a brand name (proprietary in the U.S.) of a repeating rifle produced by him in 1894, and of other firearms produced by the Savage Arms Company.
