† sart, n.1 Obs. [a. OF. sart:—med.L. sartum, neut. pa. pple. (for sarrītum) of sarrīre to hoe, weed.] = assart n. Also in Comb. sart-silver, a payment made by tenants for the right of taking brushwood from land.
