sarmientite Min.|sɑːmiːˈɛntaɪt| [f. the name of Domingo Faustino Sarmiento (1811–88), Argentinian educator and statesman + -ite1.] A monoclinic hydrated basic arsenate and sulphate of ferric iron, Fe2(AsO4)(SO4)(OH).5H2O, found as pale yellow-orange microcrystalline nodules.
