saléeite Min.|ˈsæleɪaɪt| orig. saléite; also without accent. [ad. F. saléite (Thoreau & Vaes 1932, in Bull. de la Soc. géol. de Belgique XLII. 96), f. the name of Achille Salée (d. 1932), Belgian palæontologist: see -ite1.] A hydrated phosphate of magnesium and uranium, Mg(UO2)2(PO4)2·10H2O, which occurs as yellow crystals in association with torbernite as an oxidation product of uranium minerals.
