‖ puceron|pysərɔ̃, pysrɔ̃| [F., deriv. of puce flea: cf. chaperon.] A plant-louse or aphis. (Applied by Tucker to some insects (Coleoptera or Heteroptera) which dart about on the surface of water; also, erroneously, by Hill to the Podura or spring-tail and its allies, Collembola of Lubbock.)
