puce, a. (n.)|pjuːs| [a. F. puce n.:—L. pūlex, -icem a flea; couleur puce flea-colour (17th c.).] a. attrib. or as adj. (orig. puce colour): Of a flea-colour; purple brown, or brownish purple.
