‖ Beroe Zool.|ˈbɛrəʊiː| [a. L. Beroë, Gr. βερόη, name of a daughter of the mythical Oceanus.] A genus of small, gelatinous, marine animals classed by Huxley among the Cœlenterata; they swim freely in the sea, and are phosphorescent at night.
