▪ I. ‖ ptilosis1 Path. Obs.|pt-, tɪˈləʊsɪs| [a. Gr. πτίλωσις disease of the eyelids, f. πτίλος sore-eyed: see -osis.] A disease of the eyelids, attended with inflammation and loss of the eye-lashes (Syd. Soc. Lex.).
