Rotameter|rəʊˈtæmɪtə(r), ˈrəʊtəmiːtə(r)| Also rotameter. [partial tr. G. rotamesser (Chem. Rev. über die Fett- u. Harzind. (1911) XVIII. 55), f. rota(tion rotation, etc.: see -meter.] 1. A proprietary name for a device with a transparent wall that is fitted into a pipe or tube and indicates the rate of flow of fluid through it.
