rossite Min.|ˈrɒsaɪt| [f. the name of Clarence Samuel Ross (1880–1953), U.S. geologist + -ite1.] A hydrated calcium vanadate, CaV2O6.4H2O, found as yellow triclinic crystals occurring in glassy masses in sandstone.
