balaustine|bəˈlɔːstɪn| Also 7 balaustin, 8 -ian. [ad. Gr. βαλαύστιον (in same sense), or subst. use of an adj. formed from it.] The red rose-like flower of the wild pomegranate, which, when dried, is used in medicine as an astringent.
