ˈringleader Also 6 ryngledre, -leder, ryng(e)leader; ringeleeder, -leader; ringleder, Sc. -leidar. [f. the phrase to lead the ring: see ring n.1 10 b.] 1. One who takes a leading place or part among a body or number of persons whose character or conduct is reprehensible; esp. a leader, a chief instigator or organizer, of a mutiny, tumult, etc.
