[F., = lit. ‘to the seeing again’, i.e. in anticipation of seeing (meeting) you again.]
An expression implying farewell for the present; hence as n., a farewell of this kind. Also occurs in slang abbrevs. aurev., au 'voir, and as a malapropism in the form au reservoir.
