Rhæto-Romance, a. and n. Philology. Also Ræ-. Formerly Rhæto-Romanic; also Rhe-. [f. Rhæto-, combining f. L. Rhætus Rhætian + Romance.] Applied to those dialects of the Romance family which are spoken in south-eastern Switzerland and the Tyrol; sometimes particularly to the Rumansch of the Grisons or the Ladin of the Engadine.
