astatic, a. Electro-Magn.|əˈstætɪk| [f. Gr. ἄστατ-ος unstable (f. ἀ priv. + στα- to stand) + -ic.] Having no tendency to remain in a fixed position. astatic needle: one so situated or arranged as to be unaffected by the earth's magnetism.
