rhinosporidiosis Path.|ˌraɪnəʊspərɪdɪˈəʊsɪs| [f. mod.L. Rhinosporidi-um, name of a genus of fungi (Minchin & Fantham 1905, in Q. Jrnl. Microsc. Sci. XLIX. 521: see rhino- and sporidium) + -osis.] Chronic infection of mucous membrane and rarely of skin by the fungus Rhinosporidium seeberi.
