1. A tasting beforehand or by anticipation; a foretaste. Chiefly fig.
1526Pilgr. Perf. (W. de W. 1531) 296 As prelibacyons or foretastynges of that endlesse glory. 1633T. Adams Exp. 2 Peter i. 19 The wicked have a prelibation of that darkness they shall go unto hereafter. 1742Young Nt. Th. ix. 2370 Rich prelibation of consummate joy! 1841Blackw. Mag.
