precent, v.|prɪˈsɛnt| [ad. L. præcentāre to sing before, or back-formation from precentor.] a. intr. To officiate as precentor; to lead the singing of a choir or congregation. b. trans. To lead in singing (a psalm, antiphon, etc.).
