Powysian, a. and n.|pəʊˈɪsɪən, paʊˈɪsɪən| Also † Powisian. [f. Powys (see below) + -ian.] A. adj. Of or pertaining to the historical principality of Powys in east-central Wales, or its inhabitants or dialect. B. n. a. An inhabitant of Powys. b. The dialect of Powys. Powys was established as the name of a Welsh county in 1974.
