post-ˈdoctoral, a. [post- B. 1 b.] Of, pertaining to, or for the purpose of advanced research by persons already holding a doctor's degree. Also as n., one who is undertaking or has undertaken a period of study or research subsequent to obtaining his or her doctor's degree.
