Popemobile|ˈpəʊpməbiːl| [f. pope n.1 + -mobile.] A popular name for a specially-designed vehicle with a raised viewing platform surrounded by bullet-proof glass, used by the Pope when on an official visit to a foreign country. This type of vehicle was introduced by Pope John Paul II.
