‖ pomme Gastron.|pɒm| [Shortened form of next.] A potato. Chiefly pl., esp. in pommes allumettes, ‘potato matchsticks’, i.e. matchstick-thin chips; pommes frites, ‘fried potatoes’, i.e. chips.
