† poˈmada, poˈmado Obs. Also 7 pommada, -ado, pom(m)ade. [a. It. pomada, -ata (Florio), f. pomo pommel of a saddle: see -ada. In form pomm-, after F. pommade; see also -ado.] An exercise of vaulting upon or over a horse by placing one hand on the pommel of the saddle.
