‖ polythecium Zool.|pɒlɪˈθiːʃɪəm, -ˈθiːsɪəm| Pl. -ia. [mod.L., f. Gr. πολυ-, poly- + θηκίον, dim. of θήκη box, case.] Name for a colony or zoothecium of certain infusorians, in which the loricæ are united by their stalks. Hence polyˈthecial a., pertaining to a polythecium.
