polyphyllous, a. Bot.|pɒlɪˈfɪləs| [f. Gr. πολύϕυλλ-ος many-leaved + -ous.] Properly, Having or consisting of many leaves; usually, Having the (perianth-) leaves separate, not united. Also apophyllous, dialyphyllous, eleutherophyllous. (Cf. polypetalous, polysepalous.) Opp. to monophyllous or gamophyllous.
