‖ polyoptron, -um|pɒlɪˈɒptrən, -əm| [mod.L., f. Gr. πολυ-, poly- + -οπτρον, naming instruments of sight: see diopter.] An optical instrument through which objects appear multiplied; a multiplying-glass (see quot. 1842). Cf. polyscope 1.
