polygalin Chem.|pəˈlɪgəlɪn| [f. mod.L. Polygala (see prec.) + -in1.] A substance obtained from the root of Polygala Senega; also called senegin, and polyˈgalic acid. Hence poˈlygalate, a salt of polygalic acid.
