[a. L. pollinctor, agent-n. from pollingĕre to wash (a corpse) and prepare it for the funeral pile.]
One who prepares a dead body for cremation or embalming, by washing, anointing, etc.
In quot. 1969, one employed by a funeral director to do this (U.S. Blacks).
