plough-in, n. Naut.|ˈplaʊɪn| [f. plough v. + in adv.; cf. plough v. 4 c, 6 c.] The uncontrolled downward pitching of a hovercraft caused by part of the leading edge of the skirt touching the water when the craft is moving at speed, often resulting in a capsize; an instance of this.
