pithecian, a. Zool.|pɪˈθiːsɪən| [ad. F. pithécien, f. Gr. πίθηκος ape: see -ian.] Of or pertaining to Pithecia (Geoffroy, 1812), the typical genus of the Pitheciinæ, a subfamily of the Cabidæ, S. American monkeys commonly called Sakis. So piˈtheciine a., pertaining to the Pitheciinæ.
