Pisgah|ˈpɪzgə| [a. Heb. Piṣgāh ‘cleft’.] The name of a mountain east of Jordan, whence Moses was allowed to view the Promised Land (Deut. iii. 27); hence used allusively, esp. attrib., as Pisgah glance, Pisgah prospect, Pisgah sight, Pisgah view.
