Pima|ˈpiːmə| Also 9 Pimo. [‘Said to be from a native word meaning ‘no’ incorrectly understood and applied by missionaries. The term prob. was brought into American use from Spanish.’ (D.A.)] 1. A North American Indian people living chiefly along the Gila and Salt rivers in Arizona; a member of this people.
