† ˈpignolate, ˈpiniolate Obs. [a. F. pignolat, ‘the preserued kernell of a Pine-apple, or conserue of Pine-kernells’ (Cotgr.); cf. It. pignolo ‘a kinde of meate of pine-apples’ (Florio 1598), also pignon1, and -ate1.] A conserve or confection made of pignons or pine-kernels.
