‖ pichiciago|pɪtʃɪˈsjeɪgəʊ| [ad. Sp. pichiciego, f. (?) Guarani pichey (see prec.) + Sp. ciego (:—L. cæcus) blind.] A small burrowing edentate animal of Chile, Chlamyphorus truncatus, allied to the Armadillos; its back and head are covered with a hard leather-like shell attached only along the spine, and dipping abruptly over the haunches.
