Pianola|piːəˈnəʊlə| Also pianola. [app. intended as a dim. of piano n.2] Proprietary name of a mechanical contrivance which when attached to a piano can be made to play tunes upon it: see quot. 1901; also, a piano which incorporates such a mechanism, a player-piano. Also attrib.
