‖ responde Sc. Law.|rɪˈspɒndiː| [L., 2 sing. imp. of respondēre. Cf. respondie.] a. (With book.) ‘A book kept by the Directors of Chancery, in which are entered all non-entry and relief duties payable by heirs who take precepts from Chancery’ (Bell). †b. A single entry in this book. †c. The amount of the duties specified in any entry.
