‖ Phyllirhoe Zool.|fɪˈlɪrəʊiː| [f. Gr. ϕυλλορρόος shedding leaves, f. ϕύλλ-ον leaf + -ροος, from ῥοή flow.] A genus of degenerate gastropod molluscs, having no cerata nor ctenidium, and of thin translucent body, without shell, gills, or foot, the general surface being respiratory in function; usually called from their appearance ocean-slugs. The species P. bucephalus is highly phosphorescent.
