ˈphragmocone Zool. Also erron. phragma-. [f. Gr. ϕραγµό-ς fence (or ϕραγµο- = ϕραγµατο-: see phragma, and cf. σπερµο-) + κῶνος cone.] The conical chambered internal skeleton of a fossil belemnite; also, by extension, the corresponding spiral or otherwise-shaped part in other fossil cephalopods.
