photoblepharon|fəʊtəʊˈblɛfərɒn| [mod.L. (M. Weber Siboga Expeditie (1902) I. 108), f. photo- 1 + Gr. βλέϕαρον eye.] A small luminous fish of the genus so called, found in the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean.

Harvey Nature Animal Light i. 18 Leaving out of account..the use for bait, in fishing, of the luminous organ of a fish, Photoblepharon, by the Banda islanders, we find that luminous bacteria are of value for certain purposes in the laboratory. 1928C.
