phossy, a. colloq.|ˈfɒsɪ| Also fossy. [f. phos, colloq. abbreviation of phosphorus + -y.] Characterized or affected by the presence of phosphorus; in phossy jaw, the popular name of the disease phosphorus necrosis of the jaw.
