phonocamptic, a. Now rare.|fəʊnəʊˈkæmptɪk| [f. phono- + Gr. καµπτ-ός, -ικ-ός, f. κάµπτειν to bend: see -ic. In F. phonocamptique (Littré).] Having the property of reflecting sound, or producing an echo; relating to the reflexion of sound, cataphonic. Hence phonoˈcamptics, that part of acoustics which treats of reflected sounds; cataphonics, catacoustics.
