pholerite Min.|ˈfɒləraɪt| [a. F. pholérite (named 1825), irreg. f. Gr. ϕολίς, ϕολιδ-, horny scale: see -ite1.] A hydrous silicate of aluminium closely allied to or identical with kaolinite, occurring in minute scales with a pearly lustre.
