‖ phagedæna, -ena Path.|fædʒɪˈdiːnə, fægɪ-| Also 7 erron. phagadena. [L., a. Gr. ϕαγέδαινα an eating ulcer, cancer, f. ϕαγεῖν to eat, devour.] An eating sore; an ulcer that spreads and corrodes the neighbouring parts; spreading erosion occurring in an ulcer or sore.
