periblast Biol.|ˈpɛrɪblæst| [f. Gr. περί around + -blast.] a. The main part of the substance of a cell, as distinct from the external cell-wall and the internal nucleus: = periplast b. b. The outer layer of protoplasm in the egg of a teleostean fish, surrounding the central yolk.
