penicillate, a. Nat. Hist.|ˈpɛnɪsɪlət| [f. L. pēnicill-us (see penicil) + -ate2. Cf. mod.F. pénicillé.] a. Furnished with a penicil or penicils; having a small tuft or tufts of hairs, scales, etc. b. Formed into or forming a small tuft or brush. c. Having markings like those made with a pencil or brush; streaked, pencilled.
