penetrameter Radiography.|pɛnɪˈtræmɪtə(r)| Formerly also penetrometer. [f. penetra-tion + -meter.] An instrument for determining the wavelength, intensity, or total received dose of X-rays by measuring photographically their transmission through layers of metal of known thickness.
