‖ penetralia, n. pl.|pɛnɪˈtreɪlɪə| [L., pl. of penetral or penetrāle: see prec.] The innermost parts or recesses of a building; esp. of a temple, the sanctuary or inmost shrine; hence gen. and fig. Innermost parts, recesses.
